About the resort
Since 2000, The Westin Resort & Spa located in Whistler, BC has twice been named the #1 ski resort hotel in North America by Condé Nast Traveler magazine. A selling feature for the resort is the Avello Spa & Health Club – a two-level, 8,000 square foot health and fitness center with views of the Whistler mountain ranges.
During the afternoon, sun was coming through the west facing wall of windows in the fitness center making it uncomfortably hot for guests. The resort chose Phantom’s motorized screens to cover the windows, allowing them to control the heat while guests are still able to enjoy the beautiful view. The screens fit seamlessly into the facility’s design and retract completely out of sight when not in use.
